Engineering Manager

We’re looking for an amazing engineering leader to join one of our development teams (4-6 engineers) as an Engineering Manager!


The team:

At Usabilla/SurveyMonkey, we believe digital interactions should be effortless. That’s why we’ve developed a product suite that helps our clients to test, measure, and improve the user experience by gathering the best, most detailed user feedback possible. To help the owners of these applications/websites/digital solutions make sense of the data, we analyze, aggregate and benchmark the feedback automatically. Finally, we build solutions and integrations to make sure that every important piece of insight or individual feedback can be acted upon to measurably improve their end-users’ experience. This role is the manager of the team that helps our customers take actions. We have huge challenges, but also huge opportunities and awesome SurveyMonkey teams around the world to learn from and leverage. As the manager, you would be guiding the team to success!


Why we need you:

  • One of our high performing engineering teams has a job to do - you will ensure that they succeed doing it!
  • Be an example as a contributing engineer. Spend the majority of your time being a technical leader, designing systems, writing code, reviewing code, investigating or debugging issues, and helping others do the same.
  • Drive projects and features across the team to succeed. The team needs leadership to do this, for example: understand expectations and share them with the team, unblock the team and individuals, seek creative solutions to challenges, and make sure that all the pieces come together to complete the big-picture goal.
  • Help the team become the best engineering team it can be, for example: match people to roles and challenges on the team, triage and prioritize work, hold the team and it’s individual engineers accountable, help the engineers grow by partnering in their careers, and work closely with other engineering leaders and the team’s Product Owner.

Requirements

Your Skills:

  • BA/BS/MS degree in Computer Science, related degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of technical leadership and people management experience
  • 5 years of relevant technical experience, with hands-on programming experience in some of the following: Java, PHP, Kafka, Docker, PostgreSQL, React and/or javascript
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
